Hi! That’s me. My real name is Melissa Bleier.

I’m a historian. (Really, I get paid and everything to do it!) I’m a race fan. I believe that the heritage of NASCAR is one of the most overlooked facets of American history.

Hopefully this little blog and my Master’s Thesis on historic racetracks will change a little of that. If you have a question, or you want to see something written up here- just ask!

This is a great site, I found and now follow you on Twitter…any lady that loves NASCAR is an auto follow in my book, smile.

I’m originally from Richmond,Va and lived 1/2 mile from RIR, which BTW has both positives and negatives (traffic OMG!)

    Have a great day.

I’m interested in the paper you gave at the NASSH conference in May. Would you be willing to share a copy, or direct me to a published version? Thanks.
